EMRs are legal documents that provide a record of care, reduce medical errors, and speed delivery and quality of health care. Using electronic medical records is one way that we use this communication modality is to keep track of all the patients’ health records, this has become a large form of communication that the health care providers are using. Paper-based records have been in existence for centuries and their gradual replacement by computer-based records has been slowly underway for years. Electronic medical record system lie at the center of any computerized health information systems by consumers. Without them other modern technologies such as decision support systems cannot be effectively integrated into the routine clinical workflow. The primary advantage of Electronic Medical Record software implementation is increased efficiency, using an EMR system saves time and effort and the patient’s medical information is always readily available, furthermore implementation of electronic health records system saves office space that is usually required to store paper-based, none-electronic medical records.
