Ms. Student,

I have received and reviewed your assignment titled, Lab Courses Go Virtual. I appreciate the fact that the assignment was submitted in a timely manner. However, upon reviewing the Turnitin Plagiarism Report, I have found that the report shows a 99% similarity index. This information indicates that the paper submitted, was not completed by you, instead, the paper was written by Thomas F. Edgar.

Plagiarism by a student is not taken very lightly by me or the University. I feel plagiarism is one of the most disrespectful and dishonest act a student could commit. The act of plagiarism is just the same as the act of theft. Please think for a moment on Mr. Edgar and how he would feel about the hard work he put into his article and having it claimed by another. If it were your hard work, how would that act affect you?

As a result of your Academic Dishonesty, I will not accept this assignment and you will receive a failing grade for the course. I have also submitted my recommendation to the Dean of Students that you be placed on Academic Probation. Please be advised that during this period of probation any acts of Academic Dishonesty, which will include, but not limited to, Fabrications, Unauthorized Assistance, Copy write Infringement, Collusion and Misrepresentation, may very well lead to your expulsion from the University.

If you are unsure of the meaning of the above mentioned acts of dishonesty, please refer to the Student Code of Conduct Manual and refer to the section labeled Student Code of Academic Integrity.

This will be the only letter of warning you will receive. The next step could again lead to your expulsion from the University.
