“Capital punishment should be mandatory for all murders.”

Life in prison without the possibility of parole is a more realistic punishment for murder than putting someone on death row. According to the Bill of Rights putting someone to death is violating the “cruel and unusual” punishment clause. Capital punishment has been done in a number of ways over the past years for example, lethal injection a form of capital punishment used today. Putting someone to death for committing an infamous crime is showing that murders are not the only people who are heartless. Studies have shown that in the days and weeks following the adoptions of capital punishment in some states that they had more crimes committed. This shows that although the government is looking to scare criminals from committing an act of cruelty they are making them more active with doing so. Since 1973 because of their innocence 138 people were released from prison. How can people be so quick to throw away one’s life for another when they do not have all of the proper evidence that provides them with a rational reason for doing so? Life behind bars with little freedom and horrible quality of living will suffice for a criminal. People who commit murders do deserve to be punished but death is not the answer.

There are five methods for putting a criminal to death according to capital punishment rules. These five methods are: lethal injection, electrocution, hanging, gas chamber, and firing squad. The one method most commonly used today is lethal injection. This method is authorized for use in 35 different states. The lethal injection method has its pros and cons. This method was said to be used to make death come to the victim quickly and painlessly, yet if done wrong it can be very hard for the person to tolerate.
