Personality Assessment

The entrepreneurial spirit is not a new concept. It can be seen throughout history in inventors, explorers, and pioneers. Entrepreneurs seek for new ways to do things. Modern entrepreneurs seek for new products, services, production methods, or markets. They have a special talent for recognizing opportunities and developing them into a profitable business venture. Not everyone has the inner drive and personality to be a successful entrepreneur. A tool such as the personality assessment library contains several self-scoring tests that aid an individual in personality analysis. The results of this analysis will reveal my personal potential for success as an entrepreneur. In addition to personality insights, this assessment also identifies how well I work with others and within organizations. This information is compared to known leadership characteristics of successful entrepreneurs to help determine if I have the potential to become an effective entrepreneur.

Personality Insights

Upon completing the first section of the personality assessment, my basic personality type became evident. Two personality characteristic stand out from the others: conscientiousness and openness to experience. According to the assessment, conscientiousness individuals are dependable, reliable, thorough, organized, planners, and persistent (Pearson Prentice Hall, 2007). In general, my personality trait of conscientiousness reflects my high performance in the workplace. Openness to experience expresses my imaginative and creative ability to innovate. This trait also expresses my ability to learn new skills and adapt to change.

This assessment also reveals two weaknesses in my personality. My scores on extroversion and emotional stability express areas that I need to work on improving.
