A decision to invest in a fortune 500 businesses can be a daunting challenge. During the course of this paper you will decide whether to invest in a McDonald’s business or not. An analysis of McDonald’s strengths, weaknesses/limitations, opportunities, and threats (SWOT) is provided. The SWOT analysis provides the most relevant information regarding why the business is or is not a sound investment choice. The company’s stakeholders are identified, and McDonald’s stakeholder requirements are also discussed. The history and future of McDonald’s is disclosed and McDonald’s became an American icon and a global presence is covered.

McDonald’s is a prominent fast food Hamburger restaurant among other national and international fast food service organizations. McDonald’s has in excess of 30,000 restaurants that serve more than 45 million people daily across the United States. This is a very powerful and a very true statement.

McDonald's fast food hamburger restaurant began operations in San Bernardino, California, in 1948 led by two McDonald’s brothers Maurice and Richard McDonald. The brothers bought eight milk shake machines for their restaurant from an appliance salesman named Ray Kroc, an energetic salesman of the Multimixer milkshake machines. Once Ray Kroc learned the McDonald brothers were using eight of his milkshake machines (a significant amount for the time) at one time in their one location at the San Bernardino, California, restaurant he became interested in the food operation. He traveled to the San Bernardino restaurant location observe operations at the McDonald’s ' restaurant (Kroc, #24).
