Company Background
Bohn and Associate is a large law firm with three locations Chicago, New York, and Miami. Chicago is the main location and was started by Mr. Richard Bohn senior 30 years ago. Five years ago Richard Senior decided to leave the Chicago location to his son Richard Bohn Jr. and buy a small law firm down in Miami Florida where he plans to eventually retire. Two years ago Robert Bohn decided to branch out and purchased a law firm in New York City which he now runs. Bohn and Associate specializes in patent and business law for mechanical parts and equipment. The main location has 400 employees and both New York and Miami have 100 employees for a total of 600 employees. The size of the company and locations allow them to support many large corporations and because of this they plan on continuing to grow.
Management Plan
To ensure the success of the MS Windows NOS upgrade and software migration project, the project team must perform the following tasks in the planning phase of the project:
• State the objectives for the migration
• Survey all existing hardware and software
• Evaluate application(s) compatibility within the new environment
• Analyze Active Directory structure
• Prepare an upgrade thorough project plan
The objectives of the migration plan are:
• Revamp the network design for the Law Firm users who are located in three different metropolitan areas within the United States, where the users distribution are as follows:

New York, NY 100
Miami, FL 100
• Upgrade the NOS from the current MS Windows 2000 to MS Windows 2003, which will entail the reconfigurations of MS Exchange, PDC, DHCP, DNS and WINS servers, while providing a stable plat form for managing existing client server applications.
