Team A - Week 3 Reflection Paper

Topics Comfortable With

Team A’s was comfortable with learning about probability and how its concepts apply to business decisions. We’ve learned that probability is the opposite or reverse of statistics and its information is used to infer the probable nature of the sample (McClave, Benson, & Sincich, 2011, p. 117). Probability is the chance and event will occur, so organizations are aware that there’s a chance for failure with every decision made. The risks must be weighed to see if the decision will result in failure or success. This particular topic will help the team in the upcoming weeks.

This week’s objectives surrounding the methods of constructing acquired research into an effectively written language, which has been logically laid in a way that allows a plain understanding of a uniformed approach. Although there is some room for misunderstanding of the concepts for identifying certain research variables, we feel more comfortable following The Research Process as arranged by Cooper and Schindler (Cooper & Schindler, 2011, Chapter 4). This supplied process allows for a clearly defined outline of researched data, which can be useful when attempting to present or prove a needed change with an organization or operation.

Topics Struggled With

Team A’s major struggle this week was with the practice problems. The study plan does assist with additional practice, in addition to understanding the concepts better, once completed.

Getting a full grasp of how the practice problems are used within the attained research was challenging. It was difficult to understand when to use each equation as well as how to input the researched data into the necessary graphical visuals to utilize the information correctly within formal presentations....
