1) The term digital enterprise refers to an organisation that uses computers and information systems(IS’s) to perform or support its activities.

2) Digital economy refers to an economy based on digital technologies and who’s members are better informed and able to communicate because of IT. We use the term digital economy to emphasize the convergence of computing and telecommunications via the internet – and the resulting flow of information thats stimulating e-commerce, online transactions and organisational changes. In this economy, wired and wireless networking and communication infrastructures provide the platform over which people and organizations devise strategies, interact communicate, collaborate and search for information. Examples of digital economy are:

3) Electronic commerce also e-commerce or EC, is the process of buying ,selling, transferring or exchanging products, services or information via the internet or other networks.

4) The underlying infrastructure for digital organizations and EC is networked computing, which enables computers and other electronic devices tio be connected via telecommunication networks.

5) A business model is a method of doing business by which a company can generate revenue to sustain itself. The model spells out how the company creates or adds value in terms of the goods or services the company produces in the course of its operations.

6) An information system (IS) collects , processes, stores, analyzes and disseminates information for a specific purpose. Like any other system, an IS includes the inputs(data, instructions) and outputs (reports, calculations). It processes the inputs by using technology such as PC’s and produces outputs that are sent to users or to other systems via electronic networks.
