Imagine you have just purchased the newest version of you favorite online shooting game. You hurry home, rip the packaging, and sit down preparing yourself for a night on online gaming. However, as you start playing you realize that your computer is running slower than usual. Your sound isn’t sounding right and your graphics for some reason look a little off. Better yet, you realize that you new game now runs on a newer version of the software that currently on your computer. Believe it or not, this is happens a lot to computer owners. There are many factors that used in the decision making process for upgrading or purchasing and new computer. Depending on what exactly what you use your computer for, that would determine whether you’ll upgrade or buy when the time comes. Let’s look at some differences on how some people and companies make and carry out these decisions about computers.

One reason individuals buy a new computer is to upgrade from an older one. When you consider that the lifetime of a computer averages to about three to five years, this seems like it could get very pricy. However, as technology gets faster, better, and more efficient and an older computer will get left behind. Software won't run as well, newer peripherals will be incompatible and eventually, hardware drivers will become unavailable. Buying a brand new computer will ease frustration as technology advances and a user will have what is needed. This leads me to my next reason of the decision making process with computers. Individuals may be purchasing their 1st computer. If a person is like my father, then they’ll be soon purchasing or have just purchased a computer. Some people have never owned a computer. It’s almost impossible not to have used one nowadays and after testing a computer, individuals like my dad, r may find useful programs that can make their lives easier.
