Authoritarian, Democratic, Laissez-faire Leadership Three Styles Of Their Own

Good leaders are made, not born. If you have the desire and willpower, you can become an effective leader. Through a never ending process of self-study, education, training, and experience good leaders are developed. Leaders are important, and there is always a leadership crisis of one kind or another, at any given time. One would ask what leadership is. Leadership is a leader concise use of symbols to reach their goals, and use effective communication to lead by talking about the past, present, and future. Leadership is all around us and when used can be very effective in the workplace and our lives.

Leader’s guide or inspire others to achieve a common set of goals. These goals help aid the business they work for. There are three main types of leadership that underline what I am talking about. The three types are Authoritarian leadership, Democratic leadership, and Laissez-faire leadership. Many organizations use these leadership styles around the world today. They are styles that can be used to help a business be effective. Although the three leadership styles differ, they each play a valuable role in different situations.

The Three Leadership Styles

Hackman and Johnson (2009) state, “That each of these styles of communication has unique features that affect how leaders interact with followers” (p 42). All of these three styles are good and play an important part in leadership. As an individual, you, as a person, must find what style of leadership works best for you.
