Local Area Network Plan
For Taylor & Sons Financial Consulting, a strong Local Area Network is one of many keys to developing a successful business. Possessing an efficient intranet to enable employees to work successfully is quite important, and parts that make up such an important network are protocols, access policies, and security.
Protocols
We will be using the TCP/IP protocol suite in the architecture of the new network for the company. Using this protocol will be the most efficient, reliable and cost-effective way to get the network up and running with minimal project overrun. TCP/IP is the commonly-used protocol suite in use by a vast amount of enterprises. It is very popular for several reasons; it is a non-proprietary suite, it has a light footprint, and a large number of application layer protocols. In addition, key elements of the suite that make it desirable are DHCP, ARP Protocol, TCP ports, and suite protocols at the Network, Transport, Session, and Application layers.
In an enterprise, it is important to have a reliable network protocol to carry out the daily operations of the company. Businesses survive and perish in the modern era when daily operations come to a halt as a result of IT networking issues. Daily operations such as e-mail, remote access, and file transfers are just a few of the vital tasks that exist in a business. The TCP/IP protocol suite supports these tasks and in an efficient and reliable manner. The applications layer of this protocol suite will handle a variety of applications common to this suite. Applications such as POP, SMTP, SSH, RLOGIN, FTP, and Telnet are handled with ease and very little failure.
Access
