The water issue that I selected is habitat destruction. Habitat destruction has originated due to multiple sources including techniques of fishing, scuba diving, snorkeling as well as contamination and pollution. Though the ocean is vast and difficult to understand how it could be destroyed by humans, it is continually put at risk due to many human activities. The habitat’s of ocean dwelling creatures in being deteriorated by tourists, fisherman, and even the everyday person littering and contaminating the water. I will give details as to how each of these situations are destroying the habitats and how we can manage and sustain a plan to correct and alleviate the problems. I will also discuss the other issues and impacts on the ocean that contribute to the destruction of the habitats in the oceans and opposing views. In conclusion, I will discuss how this plan will affect the community, both positively and negatively. I will include a plan of how we intend on obtaining goals and preventative plan to avoid habitat destruction.

During the review process I identified many causes and effects of habitat destruction. These causes included different methods of fishing that damage the ocean floors, snorkelers and scuba divers touching and damaging coral reefs, sometimes by accident, and sometimes as souvenirs, also contamination and pollution from crop chemicals running into the ocean or industrial waste being disposed of damaging the habitat that is required for survival. When fishing vessels using trawl nets are pulled across the ocean floor to trap different species the habitat is destroyed and the recovery time varies dependant on the damage caused by the nets, sometimes the environment is completely cleared and may take years to rebuild, and with continual fishing in this manner the habitat never has an opportunity to recover. Another way that habitats are destroyed are by tourists not knowing the proper way to interact with the ocean and its inhabitants....
