BUBBLES LAUNDRY

Introduction

A flow chart is very useful in laying out how a task is to be completed. A flow chart is a good representation about a company’s process such as, making moldings or even car parts. This paper will show a flow chart in how a laundromat known as “Bubbles Laundry” collects dirty linen from industrial and medical facilities, cleans, and redistributes the clean laundry and itemizes the pieces so a bill can be produced. The flow chart will also include comments on how medical and industrial are billed for their dirty linen.

Factors that affect the process design

The process flow will show that Bubbles Laundry starts their shift at 5:30 every morning Monday through Friday to collect dirty laundry from these facilities and when all routes are completed the driver drops off the dirty laundry at Bubbles Laundromat. There are factors that will affect the process design and those factors should be considered when determining a process flow. One factor that could affect the process design is the amount of clients Bubble’s Laundromat has and if there is a specific route that is followed. Another factor that would affect the design would be the weather and how much time it would take to pick up the dirty laundry and deliver it to the Laundromat for cleaning in inclement weather. How long it takes to load the laundry and how much laundry is collected each day.

In addition, how many workers are available to help sort the laundry bags once the laundry is delivered is also a key factor that can affect the process design. Bubble’s Laundry must also consider if all their machines are working properly and are not out of order to clean linen for each company; since medical is cleaned in a different washing machine than industrial. The time it takes to clean the linen is also an important factor. The fact is that if the linen is soiled more than usually it may take a couple of washes to get them clean.
