Case: TGIF

Does Quantum have a problem or not? Yes, they have. The purpose of TGIF is that the success of company thanks to employees and the esprit de corps that they’ve developed. And Erin and Stan thought that their continued growth has been the family feeling among their employees. But, as Bill mentioned in the case, they are missing the point like john hooker’s case, who seem to overdo it.

How would you respond to Bill? Even though something bad could come out of this, but for the organization’s development, it is valuable to have the TGIF. It is great for recruitment and they define our corporate culture.

Examine the pros and cons of the various actions. For the pros, “what a great place to work!”. The company can encourage their employees through TGIF, and they also might have the family feeling among their employees. It offers morale at an enthusiastic level.

For the cons, it should not be satisfied to every employee like john hooker who seems to overdo it. For some people would rather have rest than have the beer bust. If the party has every week, it might lose their meaning, and it could be helpless party to the employees instead.

What do you think Quantum should do? They have to find out the other way to encourage their employees, which is satisfying all the employees. Because of big company which have lots of employees, so that, it is going to be hard to find out. But in order to remain their meaning of having party for employees, it is necessary to have alternatives, instead of TGIF. Otherwise, due to some employees like john, they are going to lose their meaning.
