Unit Title: VERBS
DESIRED RESULTS
Established Goals:
The students will able to state the meaning of the verb. Identify the verb in the sentence. Lastly they can learn the roles, functions and formations of the verb in a sentence.
Essentials Questions:
1. What is verb?
2. What are the important functions of the verb in a sentence?
3. What are the tenses of the verbs? Understanding:
The verb conveys an understanding of the action expressed, or it conveys the state of the subject.
Students will know……..
A verb or compound verb asserts something about the subject of the sentence and express actions, events, or states of being.
The verb or compound verb is the critical element of the predicate of a sentence.
The two important functions of the verbs: some verbs put static object into motion and verbs help clarify the objects in meaningful ways.
The verb’s role in a sentence.
The formation of the verb-word.
Students will be able to…..
The students will know the meaning of verb. They will also learn the functions, roles and formation of the verb in a sentence. And with that the students can write sentences using the different verbs. They can identify also the verb in the sentence.
ACCEPTABLE EXPERIENCES
Performance Tasks:
Let the students recall those different actions or movements that you are doing at home. Then group the class and task them to act the said actions they have observed. Indicators of Understanding:
The students can perform the task well and they can state it in the class clearly.
Other Evidences:
Quizzes- Assign the students to make a news article about the different issues and complains of the education today. And let them classify the verbs they used.
