Reflection paper
Introduction
Throughout my studies in Business Capstone, I have understood the real business environment. Although it is just a game, my skills in business communication and my understanding in accounting and financing have been improved a lot.
This reflection paper will show my collaboration and team’s interaction. The second part of the reflection paper will list my strength and weakness, and the effort I made to improve myself. It also gives a brief summary of the knowledge I gained.
My collaboration and contribution
Teamwork is one of the core concepts in Capstone. As I mentioned in my first online journal, I suggested the first group meeting to discuss our strategy and goal. I got 4.1 in my first peer evaluation because of my positive attitude. During the game, I tried to be a good listener to understand my colleagues’ opinion. All of my decisions are based on our settled strategy, so there were few arguments and conflicts between the members. For example, I did not want to give up the traditional segment personally, because profit is always important. I explained my opinions, but I followed the major ideas at last in order to meet the team strategy.
Because my major is accounting, I focus more on the finance part. My analysis and calculation helped the group to avoid emergency loan every time. Besides, I practiced TQM at home before class. I tried hundreds of times to find a most effective investment to benefit the operating activities. I did sales forecast before class as well, which saved the time needed during the class. I just analyzed every possible situation based on our strength and weakness at home. When we had class or group meeting, I explained the opportunities and threaten of our company by adequate evidence.
