By popular consensus the best 1911 type fire arms in production today are made by Springfield Armory. They produce what they call the G.I. It is built to the same specifications as the weapons form the service era. They have faithfully recreated it down to the lack of a trigger break. They also offer a full array of customizable accessories that can be added any of their bass model 1911s. This gives you the custom appearance of the premium brands at a fraction of the cost. They were also the first major 1911 producer to offer a rail system in their “operator” variation. They also produce the first of it kind compact model.
