Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, practices, and techniques, including interpretation and application of GAO, OMB, and Treasury laws and regulations. Professionally, I have gained experience through a variety of jobs. My federalcareer spans over a ten year period. Currently, I have the honor of serving as a Systems Accountant with the Controller Operations Division (COD), Cash Reconciliation Branch (CRB) of the National Finance Center (NFC), under the supervisionof Mr. Frank Joshua. Specifically, I am one of four whose primary duties are to reconcile cash for Forest Service. The Forest Service reconciliation process includes reconciling the Statement of Differences, both deposits and disbursements via FMS6652, and the Undisbursed Appropriation AccountsFMS6653. My ongoing duties also entail preparing the Partial Financial Management Service (FMS) 224.
The preparation of the Partial FMS 224 requires evaluating the bulk file to ensure its successful transmission. The evaluation, transmission, downloading of applicable material and the printing of the final version of the FMS 224 is completed within Government-wide Accounting Systems (GWA). This agency system is also where any needed supplementals are prepared and transmitted. Excel is used to prepare projected and actual Statement of Differences (SOD) for both the Unmatched Deposit and Disbursements. Finally, I am required to place all reports, including Unmatched Deposit and Disbursements Transaction Summary Reports, Alt-Deposit-View Reports and Import Logs ontothe appropriate shared drives. This process must be and has been timelycompleted within the 3 day mandated time frame.
Having severed in my current position an year on,August 17, 2009, I am still learning. I use the internet to resolve questions concerning Government Accountability Office by using www.gao.gov. Questions regarding the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) are researched at www.whitehouse.gov/obm....
