Self-reflection

It is the first time I learned the word “charisma”, and I think everyone has its own charisma. However, those leaders, unlike other people, their charisma could be felt more easily, in other words, their charisma could influence other people more easily.

After doing the Quiz 3-1, I got 67, and it definitely belongs to the third group, “the level of emotionality is probably too low to enhance charisma”. And in the second quiz, I felt lucky that I had less than five of these experiences. After reviewing the conclusion in the book, I think I really need to improve myself. In daily life, I play as a listener more frequently than as a speaker. It’s not because I don’t want to express my feeling, but because I don’t know how to express? Specifically, how to express my felling correctly? From the book, I learned techniques for developing charisma, enthusiastic was one of the words mentioned in the books. I think that might be the reason. I am optimistic and energetic, but I hardly find myself enthusiastic.

About the second quiz, I felt lucky that I had less than five experiences on the list. The result may be conflict with the first quiz. That’s my problem I think. I know I have my personal magnetism, but sometimes I do not want to speak with people, I would rather choose to keep silence. From the book, I think maybe lack of enthusiastic is one the reasons.

Another thing I learned from this book is about leaders’ charismatic types and management styles. I found one common among these different types and styles, communication. One thing I think about is that if the employees understand their leaders’ charismatic types and management style, maybe the organization could work more efficiently. Communication is not from one side to the other side, it’s interaction from both sides. The organization could be regarded as one whole team, and in that group, not only leaders should understand normal staffs, other levels...
