Evaluating Media for Credibility

On October 11, 2012 I turned on CNN at 5:00pm and watched the Situation Room with Wolf Blitzer. As I watched, I noticed that the report was not biased and did not take a side. Some of the issues that were talked about were the recession, there are people out there are the unfriending, and even blocking their friends due to their political comments and who they want to believe will win the Presidency. Since it is getting close to the election and on the night of the Vice Presidential debate, CNN is giving a background on both candidates and where they came from. At 6:30pm on the same day, I watched CNBC and they are also prepping for the vice Presidential debate. They are giving us a background as well of both candidates like they are doing on CNN.

I think that both shows are credible and gave us the correct information. While I was watching both television news programs I did notice that are seem to be both credible and the information that they are giving was not biased and gave both sides of the issue. Both shows gave the negative and positive sides of the candidates so we as viewers can decide who would make a better candidate as Vice President. We need to know all the information on these candidates because this is one of the biggest decisions that we make as Americans so we will take as much credible information as we can.

As I watched both of these shows, like I said they gave both sides of the story on both Vice Presidential candidates and just giving us credible information so we can decide who to vote for in November. I believed both shows and what I was watching. It is very important as viewers to hear credible information especially when it comes to making big decisions like voting for the next President of the United States.
