I. Executive Summary

Fitness-4-All is a small, technologically advanced gym for the elderly in its first year of operations. The gym offers affordable gym membership rates, services, and programs specifically for the elderly during normal business hours of 9-5. After the normal business hours it opens up to the regular clientele who would like to utilize the gym. Programs and particular services are offered by request only for non-elderly clientele. The main focus of the gym is to service the elderly by offering fitness programs to get them active, and motivate them to live more healthy lives.

Fitness-4-All will serve the DC area, influencing elderly individuals to be more active and healthy, while effectively lowering the healthcare cost and activity cost of clients with progressive programs and strategies. The small staff is patient and passionate about helping client’s lives. “A report in the September issue of Archives of Internal Medicine (one of the JAMA/Archives journals) shows that older adults who maintain or begin any type of physical activity appear to live longer and have a lower risk of disability” (http://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/163825.php). We try to be proactive by improving our client lives to prevent illness or any further issues they can encounter as they age. We strongly urge clients to attempt to age gracefully and in healthy manners to save themselves money, and insurance companies.

America’s health care crisis lends to making our business more sought after, and a high commodity with time. Cheap healthcare options are not in abundance in the aging baby boomer population. The economy is still not doing well, and pretty soon with the elderly being the majority the government will feel even more pressure to make more health care reform to avoid a bigger deficit.
