Blozis must also put more pressure on the engineering and production department so that they provide better technical specifications to help with the supply chain process. The expediter must also focus more on his primary responsibilities and not stray from his job duties.

Key Assumptions:

I am assuming that Blozis Company is not using inventory computer software to perform the following tasks; create purchase orders, track goods receipts, track goods issued, create work orders and perform invoicing related duties.

Process Elements:

Blozis Company is a manufacturing company that produces highly technical equipment. The company specifies mostly on customer specific products. Blozis company needs to find away to make a stronger supply chain that can meet there customers and suppliers needs. They must have more specifics job duties and have better segregation of tasks. Blozis must work to improve there supply chain system

List of Issues with Impact Analysis:

The main issues are the job description for the expediter and a tracking system for all incoming and outgoing parts. Currently the expediter is supposed to have two primary responsibilities but it is noted that he is doing much more. His responsibilities are to pick up rush orders and to supervise the stock room. It says he spends 50 percent of his day picking up items. Clearly this tells me that he is picking up more then just rush items or there are way too many rush items. He is also busy giving technical advice instead of doing his assigned tasks. One other task the expediter is doing is creating the odd purchase order.

The second issue is the tracking system for parts. Currently parts are not being tracked properly and the supply department is sometime unclear on whether parts have come in and if they have been issued out to different departments or certain jobs.
