After reviewing the job advertisement on the University of Windsor’s myCareer site I would like to be
considered for the HR Generalist position with Research In Motion. Your organizations commitment to
employee development and strong national presence is well respected and something that I would like to
be involved with. My related educational background in human resource management and my 2 years of
relevant experience would make me a significant contribution to RIM in achieving its strategic personnel
goals and objectives.
As of April 2010, I will have completed my Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) Business Administration
with a concentration in Management & Labour Studies. During this time I have also become a Student
Member with the HRPA where I plan to write my NKE in May of 2010 as the first step to completing my
CHRP designation. My education has also led to many experiences within the Odette School of
Business where I have been involved as the VP of Finance for the Human Resource Association as well
as a Teaching Assistant for two upper level HR courses.
I am currently working as a Customer Service Representative for CIBC where I earned the valuable
experiences of assisting with hiring and training of new staff members. This position has also allowed me
to develop the necessary customer service related skills that are so relevant in today’s labour market. I n
addition to this, I have worked as a Human Resource Assistant at the Municipal Office for the City of
Toronto for two consecutive summers. There I gained experience administering payroll and pension
plans for over 45 employees. My close attention to detail and ability to maintain confidentiality when
working with sensitive information were very important for the success...
