Abstract
The following paper is about my personal code of ethics project. In the reading I will express my thoughts and opinions on the concepts surrounding ethics and what we have learned in this course. In the conclusion of this assignment I will be explaining how this course personally affected my views, thoughts, and opinions about moral.
My Personal Code of Ethics
Considering the first part of this project, as I take a look back of my how I was or perceived myself to be is very much different than I thought in comparison to others’ points of view. It’s not every day that a course comes along and actually changes my thought process and the effect of how I conduct myself today.
During the duration of this course I earned a promotion for the company in which I work for. I am now an Area Supervisor for Ross Stores, Fontana. Before my new assignment, I realized I had been acting inappropriately or unethical if you will. The reason why I say that is because, there were actions from management or associates being observed on almost a daily basis by myself in which many times I would turn a blind eye to.
As I sit in the position I currently have now I realize that i was also at fault for not taking action to make situations right for some. That might be because I was afraid of possible consequences or payback. Whatever the matter, no excuses, I failed to uphold my personal beliefs on what is right or wrong.
If I want to keep moving forward and growing as a man who leads by example, I vow now, that my heart, my intentions will be in the proper place to ensure not only myself but others following my lead will conduct themselves in proper behavior that will be morally correct.
