Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to construct and support an argument in my decision to pursue an MBA Degree with concentration on Technology Management to achieve a personal goal to obtain and further a career in computer and information management system. The argument will consider the result of my Jungian 16-Type Personality Tests on how I am perceived by others.

Acquiring My MBA

Among the great influences in my life are my parents’ examples and the way they have raised me. I grew up with seven other siblings in the Philippines, in the northern part of its biggest island called Luzon, our valley farm home. My father and mother were schoolteachers and farmers. Near our home is a public elementary school where my parents taught. In the farm I learned the value of work in planting, harvesting, and selling farm produce. Life in the farm is not easy with us children to be fed and sent to school. The earnings from the farm and the salaries of schoolteachers seem never enough to send us comfortably to College. With sweat and blood, my parents did their best for us to finish a degree and at the same time they work to become “Master Teachers.” The distinction now etched in stone as part of the memory of my father who passed away a few years ago.

An MBA degree is a personal Goal

The passing of my father rekindled my desire to obtain a masters degree. He always advised us his children to advance our education, although I am already 38 and it seems a little late to get the most of a masters’ degree. Finding time is another concern with work and the various activities that I need to attend, it seems I may never had the time to go back to school and complete a masters degree.
