For an organization to be fully functional and successful, the Human Resource Department (also known as “HR”) and the rest of the organizational management should strive to collaborate for the greater good of the organization and its’ employees. This collaboration can be very difficult to achieve; however if the two can find a way to work together and support each other, the benefits to the organization in total would be tremendous. Ivancevich states that “when these two areas work together, a company can achieve organizational efficiency” (Ivancevich, 2010). The main goal of every type of work center in an organization is to align their operations with that of management to present a clear and concise course of direction for all members of the organization. This report will analyze everything learned regarding the Human Resource Management process to date and how Publix utilizes all of the various aspects of the human resource system to help align the various aspects of the business to strengthen the overall success of the company.

There are several choices of grocery stores in America that customers can choose to shop at. Some people are focused on saving a few pennies and might do their food shopping at a place like Wal-Mart, where the stores are dirty and the employees are unapproachable and unfriendly. Fortunately in the southeast part of the United States people have the choice to shop at Publix. The stores at Publix are bright and clean, while the employees go out of their way to make the shopping experience joyful for the customers. The Human Resources function plays a key role in the ability of a corporation to be successfully implementing their strategic initiatives.
