Adolf Hitler

Adolf Hitler was born on April 20th, 1889, in the small Austrian town of Braunau near the German border. Both Hitler's parents had come from poor peasant families. His father Alois Hitler, was an intelligent and ambitious man and his mom, Klara Hitler, was a housemaid.

Hitler was not popular at school and he made few friends. He was lazy and he rarely excelled at school work. In later years as the leader of Germany, he claimed that History had been a strong subject for him but his teacher would have disagreed!! His final school report only classed his History work as "satisfactory". Hitler's final school report was on September 1905. It was as follows:

Alois died when Hitler was thirteen and so there was no strong influence to keep him at school when he was older. After doing very badly in his exams, Hitler left school at the age of fifteen.

Hitler had come to power in 1933 when he decided that the Germans were racially superior and that the Jews were inferior. He decided that the Jews had no reason to live and killed over a million of them.
