Abstract

This paper will be about the ethics and security measures for Papa John’s, International. It will discuss the current security measures in place regarding the employees, the customers, and the organization itself. Next, the paper will attempt to predict security problems that Papa John’s might face given the information previously mentioned. Next, it will try to describe and explain types of control procedures that are currently in place. Fourthly, there will be some ethical dilemmas faced by Papa John’s when control mechanisms are put into place. Finally, this paper will provide recommendations to improve the security measures and the integrity for Papa John’s in the future.

At Papa John’s, International, (also referred to as “PJ’s”) they are adamant to make sure that their company, customers, and the organization safe from harm. To do so, they have implemented a sense of high morals and ethical values, even within their security system.

First, let’s discuss the current security measures in place. Papa John’s has a Code of Ethics that helps assist in keeping their customers and their company, as a whole, secure. They mention “Conflicts of Interest” and how to avoid them. They also mention that maintaining their daily books of record are kept up to date, as well as, keeping them accurate. Moreover, they state within their Code that “Papa John’s and team members share an interest in avoiding any insider-trading investigation or prosecution, because of the potential for substantial civil and criminal penalties as well as the cost to reputation” (2011, July 26).
