The latest temperature records analysis shows that western Antarctica ice sheet melting rate higher than expected in the past twice.
Researchers fear, the resulting accelerated ice sheet melting will cause global sea levels continue to rise. Studies have shown that West Antarctica ice sheet in mid-1958 to 2010, the average temperature rise of 2.4 degrees Celsius. The UK Met Office has said, is expected next year, global temperatures 0.57 degrees Celsius higher than the long-term average temperature, so that in 2013 one of the warmest year recorded.
Bureau of Meteorology said in its forecast for the coming year, the annual temperature: "2013 is likely one of the warmest since records began 10 years since 1850, it was warmer than 2012."
It said, is expected next year than the temperature above 14 degrees Celsius this long-term global average temperature (1961 - 1990), 0.43 to 0.71 degrees, and the best estimate of the value of about 0.57 degrees. The forecast is based on the basis of its own research as well as data provided by the University of East Anglia, NASA's Goddard Institute for Space Research and the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
Bureau of Meteorology forecaster told our reporter, rising temperatures may be two reasons: First, the natural variability of climate, increasing greenhouse gas emissions that cause global warming. He also said that the global average temperature rise does not necessarily mean every region of the world will become hotter, because the impact of climate change on different regions of the world is different.
The World Meteorological Organization's data show that the 12 hottest years recorded 11 in 2001.
