Executive summary

The following report provides information about the aftermath of the financial crisis of 2007-2008, which illustrates the economic environment, in which young graduates seek employability. Within a labour market that becomes constantly more competitive.

Within this the effort was made to outline the main areas of debate of internships and then linked it to the subsequent graduate labour market for interns in general and in more specific for finance students.

The attempt was made to illustrate the merits of an internship in the increasingly competitive graduate labour market, thus, for the graduate employability. Emphasis was made to assess external factors, such as the financial crisis, how it changed the economic and ultimately business environment and its impact on the finance industry.
