Descriptive statistics:
Unit of observation is single student *Gender: Discrete, qualitative, nominal scale So only the mode(the most frequently occuring observation)can be computed: mode=F(female) * Enrolled in faculty : Discrete, qualitative, nominal scale So only the mode can be computed: mode= Yes * Grade point average: numerical, interval scale Measures of location and dispersion: mean=sum of the values/number of values=119/29= 4.103448=4.10 median=(n+1)/2=(29+1)/2=15 value, and that is 4.3 mode=5 and 4.6 (two modes)
range: highest value - lowest value=5-3=2 standard deviation: mean=4.10 ,we find the differences from the mean,we sqaure them and then we sum the squared differences=13.53. We use this number for finding the variance. variance=13.53/(29-1)=0.483214=0.48,so standard deviation(square root of variance)=0.6951=0.70 quartile deviation: Q1=(n+1)/4=(29+1)/4= 7.5 , so it is 3.4 Q3=(3n+1)/4=21.75 so it is 4.7 QD=(Q3-Q1)/2=4.7-3.4 so it is 1.3 Five number summary: x smallest=3, q1=3.4, median=4.3, q3=4.7, x largest=5 Coeficient of variation: 100*standard deviation/mean= 100*0.70/4.10=17.07317=17.07
Metadata: I used information from SUGS Josip Broz Tito and
asked also highschool students on facebook for my dataset. My dataset is about one macedonian class from one macedonian highchool (SUGS Josip Broz tito) . This highschool students were interviewed on facebook in year 2012,...
