The most important skill to have in today’s society is how to use computer programs and knowledge of computers that companies base their businesses around. Many companies are now requiring their employees to have knowledge of excel, word, and power point programs and the different kinds of computers. These programs are beneficial to have as technology is growing so are programs that need to have skills mastered in. Having skills on different types of computers for example MAC’s, laptops, and touch computers can also be a plus. Computer programs are not all the same on computers and to get familiar with them is to explore and get training.

Americans today would benefit on having more training on mastering the skill of learning how to use the programs such as excel, word, and power point if they would take the time and go to training classes. If most companies are requiring that their employees have such training, they should encourage them to have classes that they can take to help advance. Knowing the program of Excel can be helpful on both the career and personal aspect of your mastering an important skill. Though, being an employee with this skill of excel can not only help you advance, it can help reduce your personal financial stress. By tracking you monthly expenses and budgeting. The power point program is a great tool to do presentations projects. It helps the environment that you are using technology on the computer to do these projects instead of paper.

As an employer if I was looking at a potential candidate’s resumes I would look for someone that is trained in programs that we use. Some companies that are on a small budget and don’t have the time and money to train new employees on these programs they look beyond the entry level and pick advance people that have expeirence and have already mastered the skills they need to be successful in that position.
