Week 1 Team D Activity

With the release of Apple’s new innovation, the iPad is a huge hit for all types of people in the United States and abroad. Apple prides itself in designing and creating the most revolutionary technology within its industry. Apple’s approach on simplicity yet cool has created a buzz within our society and has generated the buzz and the revenue for the new iPad.

Within the first month of the release of the Apple iPad, over 1 million units were sold. This huge demand for the product has caused a shortage of units and required for Apple to place the pre-order of the iPad 3g for the end of the month to ensure adequate supply of the product. With the release of the iPad, Apple has been ablet o generate a steady stream of revenue, and has opened the door for more revenues to come there way via the application store that is available to the public.

The iPad competes with several other similar E-Book readers that have been around for some time now. The simple, yet elegant design of the iPad, and the powerful processor that it has, will take a huge chunk of the other E-Books market. Apple plans on penetrating and eliminating the use of net books within a forecasted 3 years.

Since the release of the iPad, it has been a problem for consumers to get their hands on one. Places like the Apple store; Best Buy, etc. are at the moment sold out completely and have a long list of customers on a waiting list to get one. Our team believes that it is a smart move on behalf of Apple to limit the supplies that they are getting out to their retail stores. The reason being that it will continue to increase the demand for the iPad and allow for the prices to maintain at their high mark.
