Many younger children in today’s society have turned to violence with guns. They are carrying them to school for protection from other children and many are carrying guns because of peer pressure and gang related activities. Some citizens believe that if laws were stricter to own or purchase a gun, maybe less violence will occur.

Stricter gun control laws and licensing are necessary to save lives in the school system as well as our society. The effect that gun violence has caused the school system, the society and the effect it has caused the both sides of the families is a situation that has gotten out of hand over the past decades. With stricter laws, violence with guns will not be eliminating the problem, but it will decrease the many school shootings and death that occur from gun violence. According to the fire arm and statics bureau, there were approximately 60% of U.S. citizens killed with fire arms in 2000 and the percentage is going up every year.

Guns are very powerful weapons. Guns have caused destruction, harm and death to many younger generations. Many have turned to guns to defend themselves, to protect their loved ones or to threaten and kill other people of society.

It is very important to realize that stricter laws are passed to carry an gun [as well as where gun control laws are headed. The directions these laws take not only affect our nation and society but our future as well as we all move to communities and begin to raise families (Sweas, Megan).

The effects of gun control laws have been extensive and far-reaching though they do not altogether deter people from acquiring a firearm. The Brady Handgun Control Act made it increasingly more difficult and trying process to purchase and own a gun. Gun control advocates say this is not enough that although firearm related incidents have declined since its enactment tougher laws are needed or more acts of firearm violence will continue to plague the nation (Sweas, Megan).
