Don’t get me started on racism

Don’t get me started on Racism, Where do I even start? This is a problem that is close to my heart. I can’t explain how irritated I am over the matter. Over the years of witnessing acts of racism, it has driven me to the point that I am sick and tired of it. I’m sure you would agree? It has to stop!

What has society come to with these ignorant, heartless atrocities. When I was born I was subjected into a world of racism. It has been going on for thousands of years and it isn’t stopping any time soon. If there is anything you are going to learn in this passage it is, to stand up and do something about it!

There is even racist cults out there such as the ‘KKK’( Ku Klux Klan) who performed hate crimes and terrorist attacks on African American citizens of America. They burned down houses, beat and killed them leaving their bodies lying on the road. This was when the ‘KKK’ was at their peak with an estimated 6000,000 members but fortunately society has moved on, African Americans have more rights and the ‘KKK’ have only around 6000 members.

But stop what you’re thinking! Racism on African Americans is still very much around. Did you know? Black youths arrested on drug possession are 4 times more likely to do prison time than white youths, under the same circumstances? Is that fair? No It Is Not!

There are many other racist groups around today, however recently my attention has been drawn to racism on ‘Twitter’ a social networking site. Lately, in the news there have been high profile cases of racism amongst celebrities and footballers. Some cases have even seen the ‘Twiacists’ (Twitter Racism) prosecuted in court. An example of this was recently a footballer, Fabrice Muamba collapsed on a pitch, he was believed to have died. Shortly after, a 21 year old biology undergraduate Liam Stacey commented on Twitter “LOL f*** Muamba he is dead” Stacey will be facing charges and could find himself in prison. This is a...
