Parker Hannifin Corporation is a world leading company specialized in motion and control technologies. It was founded in 1918 and is located in Mayfield Heights, Ohio. The company has been publicly traded on the NYSE (New York Stock Exchange) since December 9, 1964. Today, it is a diversified global manufacturer with eight operating groups consisting 142 divisions which are located in 47 countries. The main products and research include aerospace, climate control, electromechanical, filtration, fluid and gas handling, hydraulics, pneumatics, process control, and sealing and shielding. Although Parker produces thousands of individual products and leads the motion and control technology business worldwide, it still has many powerful competitors, most of which are large U.S. or non-U. S. Companies and specialized companies, including SMC Corporation, Freudenberg-NOK, Festo AG, Bosch Rexroth AG, Swagelok Company, Pall Corporation, Donaldson Company, Inc. and Eaton Corporation. The degree of competition varies globally and regionally and the areas of competition are wide-ranging, involving products, customer service, quality, innovation, manufacturing and distribution capability, and price.
