INTRODUCTION

Background of the Study

As of today, there are already many resort existing. One of which is Ibayo Tropical Resort that has swimming lessons and swimming. It is located at Amuntay Road Brgy.Zone 3, Ibayo Farms,City of Dasmariñas and owned by Dr. Felomena C. Campos. Ibayo Tropical Resort and Spa started the operation of their swimming type on 1998. In 1998, there were no swimming pools/resorts in Dasmariñas City; hence, the founder thought that this is an opportunity although it is very seasonal in nature.

The current number of employees of Ibayo Tropical Resort and Spa during the peak season (March – May) there were 6 to 8 regular employees. In lean months (June – February) about four to six are retrained. The process of reservation of this particular business is still in documents such as when there is a client, the employee will serve all the rules and services of the resort and then fill in all the forms that needed. This process sometimes causes failure of reservation and causes slow procedure of reservation and so with the billing process because of the filling of other forms.

The Jardin De Dasmariñas Resort & Restaurant is one of the resort that competing Ibayo Tropical Resort and Spa. This resort is using online reservation and billing system. Just like Ibayo Tropical Resort and Spa, the lifeguard of this resort is on call. The price of their day swimming per person is Php200, night swimming is Php250 and overnight swimming is Php300 while on the Ibayo Tropical Resort and Spa day swimming is Php100, night swimming is Php200, overnight swimming is Php250. Jardin De Dasmariñas Resort & Restaurant always open there restaurant during day and night. Moreover, Ibayo Tropical Resort and Spa offers swimming lesson for Php3000. There still many resorts around City of Dasmariñas that has a great impact to the marketing strategy of Ibayo Tropical Resort and Spa and can make the business condition unstable.
