It is important to use systems analysis and design mythologies when building a system because methodologies are a sequence of step-by-step approaches that help develop your final product. Most incorporated techniques that are processes that the analyst follows to ensure that the work is well thought-out, complete and comprehensible to others on the project team. The major goal is to improve organizational systems by developing or acquiring application software and training employees in its use. The reason it is not best to just build the system in whatever way seems to be “quick and easy” is steps can be skipped if the right process is not followed properly. Value is provided by using an “engineering” approach because it leads to the creation of information systems. According to Valacich, George and Hoffer in their book titled Essentials of Systems Analysis and Design, “proven methodogies, techniques, and tools are central to software engineering processes” ” ( Valacich, George, Hoffer, 2012, Page 6). The Engineering process consists of methodologies, techniques and tools the value of this approach is creating an information system.
Prototyping may be used as part of the SDLC according to Valacich, George and Hoffer in their book titled Essentials of Systems Analysis and Design, “a prototype of the final system may be developed early in analysis to help the analysts identify what users want” ( Valacich, George, Hoffer, 2012, Page 18). Once an analysis is done to understand what the users want based on the prototype the final system will be developed based on the specification of the prototype. The prototyping method starts with identify a problem and with the initial requirements a prototype is developed, once the prototype is developed into a working prototype it moves to implement and use the prototype, if the prototype is accepted it is converted to Operational System, however if there are problems it will be revised and enhanced with new requirements...
