In this paper there are two companies that I will write and address different needs of how their IT department needs and functions are working. This will also involve the use of whether the needs are being met and the IT department functions for the company as well as it should. One company will be YES Behavioral Health and the other company will be the Virginia Blood Services. I have come in contact with both companies and have seen how they function. There will be a brief description of each company, the hierarchical organization, whether it works, and the IT functions of each company.

YES Behavioral Health

This is a company that provides a service of intensive in-home, day treatment and other at home counseling services for youth and families ("Yes Behavioral Health", n.d.). The company started out very small being a privately owned company. When the need of working with families and youth became greater the company grew as well. With the need of more locations and more technology there became an even greater need for the company to purchase more service, equipment and employees. Thus this company may have grown too fast to be stable and keep up with the need that was required.

The way the company handled business is whatever the staff needed they were able to speak to the owner of the company in order to request and receive the need supplies. This made it very personal type of corporation and then projects were able to be completed faster with not a lot of overhead. This also created problems when it came to handling the budget for all the needs of the company. Once the need was approved by the company owner if then went to the finance department for ordering or purchasing needs. The finance department was one person, they would delegate when you receive the needs of supplies you requested.
