Integration of Faith and Learning 1- Character

Aristotle defined character as “the decisions a obvious.” Another well-known definition of person makes when the choice is not character is the way we act when no one is looking. Firms that have “character” tend to perform better over the long run. Acts 17:11(KJV) is related to character and to a firm having character. Paul and Silas were two followers and messengers of Christ’s gospel. They went everywhere trying to get people to follow Christ. A group of people in Berea were of the many people that received the gospel and searched diligently for the Truth in scriptures. The scripture says that “the people of Berea were more noble than those in Thessalonica.” That means they had more character. They were not sure if Paul and Silas were telling the truth, but they made the decision to find out even when it wasn’t obvious to them. Even when Paul and Silas had left and went on their way, the people of Berea continued to read and believe the gospel as well as spread it around.

According to the Marketing Management text (Kotler and Keller, 2012), marketing management is the art and science of choosing who and/or what to target, getting and keeping those targets, and growing the target base through creativity, delivery, and communication of outstanding customer value (p. 5). When a firm has a target audience and does everything it can to keep that audience using character, it can be successful. Just like the examples given in the text (p. 5) where eBay recognized that people could not find certain items they really wanted so it created an online auction clearinghouse, and IKEA saw that people wanted nice furnishings at low prices so it created easy-to-assemble furniture, Paul and Silas recognized that the Gospel of Jesus needed to be preached and that people needed something that they could depend on.
