Abstract
Information Technology (IT) is an essential resource for today’s businesses. It supports and consumes a significant amount of an organization’s resources. New business opportunities spring up with little warning. The manager’s job is to establish these opportunities so that others can understand them, to evaluate them against existing business needs, and finally to pursue any that fit with an articulated business strategy. Managers must develop an understanding of what information is essential to the decision, how to achieve it, and how to use it. Failure to understand the importance of information systems and the impact it has in all aspects could be detrimental to the profit of a company.
Terry Canon began started business school after four years of experience at Impressive Consultant Group (ICG) after graduating with a degree in business and marketing. He then completed a standard two year MBA program and worked as an intern with MFG Corporation. While Terry works with MFG’s Web Marketing company, he plans on gaining more information and understanding of information technologies.
Terry will graduate from a top ten business school with an MBA, and wants to change the world while generating a large savings account. Terry will have three career opportunities offers upon his graduating from school which will be a giant step up the professional ladder from the associated job held when working at Impressive Consulting Group (ICG). Terry knew that the job positions will require him to have a strong knowledge base in information systems. With this knowledge base in information systems, Terry will agree to provide the best advice/direction toward making sound decisions contribute to the customers.
