My Communication Style

My communication style is reflective

My best friend and love interest has a director’s communication style and while we are very good friends I often wish it was more. Her name is Alicia and she has an extremely confident spirit that screams get out of my way. I’m quite envious or her self esteem and wish I could have that kind of aura. She walks with her head high, shoulders back, and a glancing eye that works better then the brandishing gun of a bank robber. She answers questions with simple yes or no and is brutally blunt. I never thought I could like some one so arrogant and bold but I love everything about her.

Even though she is my best friend I feel like I am not worthy of her. Because of this resin I often find my self emulating her, but I don’t want to go overboard. I don’t want seam like I’m mocking, though imitation is the biggest from of flattery and failure. In a way I just try to learn from her and assimilate it to my own style. Another thing that is hard to understand is that what she says is what she means. When some one says something to me, my mind works like a thesaurus. I translate one sentence it to every kind of meaning that it could mean, and usually I think things are deeper then they are. Something I can take from understanding communication styles it to understand that, she’s a director, I’m a reflector, and I need to use the most basic meaning of understanding. Perfecting the art of communication styles will help not only with Alicia, but also with regard to rest of the understanding the world.
