Statement of Purpose

About eighteen years ago when I studied in high school in Yala province, I wondered how electronic devices such as computers, televisions and mobile phones worked, were designed and developed. With my thirst for learning, I spent my leisure time in libraries to know much about them by myself. Moreover, I was very fortunate to have an opportunity to become a member of the computer club in my high school where the number of members is very limited comparing to counterparts in provincial metropolitan areas and must say that I had much invaluable experience from this club. Deeply attracted to technologies in computer and electrical areas, I am fascinated by the fact that electrical engineering requires a combination of strict logic, systematic thinking and creativity. It then has become my strong interest ever since. After graduating from high school, I passed the local entrance examination to the Prince of Songkhla University. While I was a first-year student in the Faculty of Engineering, I found that the communication field is very fascinating. Consequently, my interest in studying and working in the field of communications engineering has intensified ever since.

About six years of working extensively in research and development in electrical engineering after graduation of my Master's degree in a national research centre, I have gained experience in theoretical research, prototyping, collaboration promotion, team building, and fund seeking. It is high time that I have to consider the next step of my career path. Most importantly, stepping forward in my career path of researchers in the national research organization a doctoral study come to be an unavoidable requirement since promotion of job positions in my organization and others, eligible requirement on academic collaborations, and creditability generally perceived by policy makers rely much on whether one has their doctoral degree or not.
