Answer the following questions:
1) What is the difference between a task dependency and a task constraint?
--- A dependency task is a task which is dependent on relevant task as one finishes and then the other starts.Task
--- Constraints are the restricktions or blockage that are placed on a task which impacts the start and finish of a task on a specified date or time.
2) Give a real-world situation when you might used the following task constraints:
a) Start No Earlier Than
--- This type of constraint would be more implacable on big projects that have a set budget for the year and then another budget the next year so that the PM and project team does not go over the budget for that year and needs to wait for the certain tasks to begin until the new year begins with a new budget plan.
b) Start No Later Than
--- If I am going to remodel my home and I have ordered my equipments and materials from Home-depot which will be delivered on march 15th 2013, I cannot begin my project until March 15th when the deliveries of the materials from Home-Depot is made for me to start the project.
c) Finish No Later Than
--- When a project has a set date which cannot be compromised, this constraint can be used. For example, For Apple to launch their new iphone- once they have announced to the public or stake holders the date of launch of the new iphone, they need to to meet the deadline.
Finish No Earlier Than
--- If a Project’s budget is based on a future years budget plan, then this type of constrain can be used.
