Being out in the business world, working a nine to five job, five to seven days a week and forty hour plus weekly workload will have you communicating with others on a daily basis. Whether it is through face to face conversation, telephone, email, conferences, or fax there is always some type of communication going on in order to have a successful business. Guardian fueling technologies (GFT) is a petroleum company that I work for, and without these various ways of communicating with our customers, vendors and co-workers, the company would not run as smoothly. This paper will discuss how the role of business communication plays out in our day to day life, how we manage the daily work load and the results of these trends that we use. Along with communication there are many other major factors that play out in running this company. Reading along in this paper, you will see how communication plays out in running a company like Guardian fueling technologies.
Day to day business communication
The roles that business communication plays in day to day work life are working on projects with other co-workers and company managers, receiving and dispatching calls at a timely manner and invoicing the calls to send out to our customers to receive payments. Working for a company GFT, they deal with working at different gas stations fixing different designs of pumps/dispensers and tanks. Working with various petroleum companies such as Hess, 7-11, Chevrons, Mobil’s, Shells, Bp’s, etc. and having to deal with those many multimillion dollar companies can be quite stressful at times. That is why having good business communication plays a big role in this company.
