INTRODUCTION

1.1 Background

PT.Darya-Varia Laboratoria,Tbk, Found in 1976 by Drs. Wim Kalona, PT.Darya-Varia Laboratories, Inc. now had two factories, after previously closing two others in 1998 as a business restructuring effort. In late December 2001; Far East Drug, an affiliate Unilab Group Philippines acquires DVL Investment Limited (DVLIL). It had 89.5% of the total shares issued by Darya-Varia from the First Pacific group in Hong Kong.

In July 2006, and the Far East Drug DVLIL (BVI) Ltd.. Darya-Varia transfesr shares to Blue Sphere Singapore Ptd. Ltd. (Blue Sphere). Blue Sphere had been a major shareholder Darya-Varia which had 92.7% shares of the Company.

Production Facilities

Leading the way towards world-class manufacturing stature, PT Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk operates two facilities in Greater Jakarta, all GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) certified and capable of producing a broad range of pharmaceutical products:

1. The Darya-Varia Plant at Gunung Putri is the center of excellence for softgel and liquid products

2. The Pradja Pharin (Prafa) Plant at Citeureup is the center excellence for low volume solid products and the toll manufacturing business – a facility that was given a Quality Assurance Index rating of 100% for the past two years by a global industry giant.

Darya-Varia Laboratoria Tbk likewise toll manufactures with its affiliate PT Medifarma Laboratories at Cimanggis, which is known as the center of excellence for high-volume solid products and toll manufacturing for affiliate products.
