My Great Escape to Ocho Rio, Jamaica

Two years ago, I had the pleasure of travelling to Ocho Rio, Jamaica and staying a Sandals Resort in Ocho Rio, Jamaica with my best friend Donna, for my 30th birthday, and a much needed vacation from my life. This experience exceeded my expectations on many levels for me mentally, physically. Upon arrival at the airport, we were greeted by Sandals staff members. After taking our luggage, they escorted us to a lounge area where we were served beverages and able to check into the hotel while waiting for others to get off the plane. We were then directed outside to the bus that was transporting us to the resort. This arrival was stress free and a great start to our vacation. A Sandals vacation in Ocho Rio, Jamaica is ideal because the atmosphere is colorful, serene and full of character, and there was a variety of food from different cultures throughout the resort. In addition, the range of activities available could please any palate. Furthermore, the accommodations were comfortable, relaxing and housed breath taking views out onto the island.

While on the 30 minute commute to the resort, we were informed by our driver of different local landmarks and information about the area. Upon arrival at the resort, we exited the bus and entered into a beautiful, marbled, hotel lobby entrance. We were greeted with glasses of champagne and many greetings of “Hey Mon, Welcome to Jamaica” from various Sandals resort staff members. We were driven up on a golf cart to our cabana where we would be staying for the week. There was only one other couple in the cabana. The cabana was 2 floors, 4 luxurious rooms each with their own private balconies, breath taking views and your own personal, enclosed pool.

There were a variety of rooms to choose from when we booked this trip; we chose to book a smaller room, nothing too fancy. Although we were in a smaller room, it didn’t feel like a small room. It was roomy and airy, with high ceilings, a...
