This paper is in response to your instruction as to investigation of how internet tools can help the Dirt Bikes’ company reach a new demographic, grow, and bring in more profits. With the vastness of the internet there are endless possibilities the company can use to find and keep new customers. Companies now days are using computers more and more for everyday tasks so it only makes sense that your company keep up with the changing times.

First and foremost, you need to include an intranet within the company. The intranet is a very close version of the internet which is made private or semi-private on a computer network. It uses a basic internet protocols system, but unlike a basic local area network the intranet does not require all the computers on this network to be within the same room or even building. As it is with the internet, this type of network can rely on a public telecommunication network or system, like version or AT&T, to connect distant computers together on that intranet. You might be asking, “This sounds great but how secure is this type of network?” You can protect this type of network behind firewalls and any other encryption which makes it very exclusive and hard to crack. An intranet network is a very good fit for a business that has information that they want their employees or other authorized individuals to see, but not anyone else outside the access list. Intranet is also about more than just accessing computer’s desktop and or hard drives for file and print sharing. This type of network allows employees access to emails for sharing information and communication with other users on the network which would cut down on the costs of printouts and any other hardcopies that could just be sent electronically.
