Running a successful business is very important to its owners and employees. Running a successful team within a business that wants to succeed is also very important. I will discuss what it will take for team to be successful.

There really isn’t a definition that will define how to create successful team. There are only suggestions. Being a successful supervisor for the last five weeks made me realize what it takes to have a successful team. I will talk what my definition of creating a successful team is. I will also talk about my experiences in the workplace on being on teams, being the team leader.

Managing conflicts is a major factor when it comes to running a successful team which will lead to a profitable business. There are five conflict management strategies according to Nemiro (2004, p. 104) and they are collaboration, compromise, accommodation, competition, and avoidance. Whenever there is a conflict within a team, in my opinion it is up to the team leader to cease control and solve the problem. Whenever I have a problem at work, I will try and solve the problem before taking it to management because I never want them to get involved unless they have to. I believe it shows that I am a great leader and can solve whatever problems come my way. According to Nemiro (2004, p. 107) there are strategies that can be used that may solve a conflict faster. There are five steps and they are to establish team norms and ground rules, collect and gather relevant information, information sharing, solution sharing and action planning, and action is taken and progressively reviewed.
