In America there are so many trends that have bombarded the way that we live our lives. One of the most known about and dangerous is cosmetic surgery. With the increase in ways to communicate including internet, television, advertisements, and more there are unlimited possibilities on how to promote cosmetic surgeries. Cosmetic surgery has become so much of a trend that there are reality shows dedicated to cosmetic and plastic surgery alone such as a show called Niptuck. More American’s are looking at their body and wondering what they could change to become more (perfect). It has become obvious that death or serious injury from cosmetic surgery has no respecter of people since famous people with money for the best surgeons have died, such as celebrities and family members of the celebrities. Some things that influence people wanting cosmetic surgery are there faces and bodies we see in the magazines and the television. Even though many people believe that the benefits of cosmetic surgery out weigh the risks the possibility of death and other complications out weigh the benefits of increase deaths in the last five years.

With any type of surgery cosmetic or not there will always be risks and possible complications. Some of these risks can be short term or even long term. Although there is low risk of complications among board certified plastic surgeons all surgeons are not board certified. Some of the complications that are known with surgery in general are abnormal heart rhythm, airway obstruction, blood clots, brain damage, death, heart attack, malignant, hyperthermia, nerve damage, stroke, temporary paralysis, and much more.
